Dachshund

Dachshunds, also known as "wiener dogs" for their distinctive long bodies and short legs, were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers. Their playful, curious nature makes them beloved pets. They come in three coat types: smooth, long-haired, and wire-haired, each requiring different grooming care. Dachshunds are known for their bravery and spunky temperament but can be stubborn, making training a consistent necessity. They are prone to back issues due to their unique physique, so care should be taken to prevent injury. Regular exercise and a healthy diet are important for maintaining their weight and overall health.
